ILIMO Dairy Moo Snax made with locally produced fresh milk is the new product for the Ilimo Dairy Farm outside Port Moresby.
Moo Snax is part of a product line that has expanded since the launching of Ilimo Fresh Milk in February.
Ilimo Dairy Farm is a joint venture between Central government, Kumul Agriculture and agribusiness firm Innovative Agro Industry PNG Ltd.
Business development manager Gallit Tamir said they were excited to have a new product on the shelves introducing to the consumers new ways to enjoy the benefits of milk.
“Ilimo Dairy Moo Snax is made from fresh milk and needs to be refrigerated,” Tamir said.
“It’s pudding in texture and has chocolate and caramel flavours which appeals to children, making it a wholesome and healthy treat.”
Since the production of fresh milk commenced, the farm has expanded its product line to include five different flavoured milk, Ilimo frozen milk stik and ice cream that was now sold in selected hotels and shops.
The local production allows the benefits of milk-based products to be accessible to the consumers at affordable prices.
Ilimo introduced the new products through more than two weeks of free sample tasting at the major shopping centres, supermarkets and schools in Port Moresby acting as a conduit to the public for transparent consumer feedback.
“These free tastings were to introduce the new products and to thank our consumers who have supported us tremendously from day one,” Tamir said.
The Ilimo dairy farm employs 150 locals in a range of positions from cropping to herd monitoring and control, milking, production workers, sales and marketing, laboratories and quality assurance.
The next product, Ilimo yoghurt, is set for launch in the coming months.
