I SUPPORT the numerous calls for the Government to punish those who participate in illegal land-grabbing of reserved land for parks in our cities and towns.
Apart from the Gerehu Stage 3B illegal land grabbing issue, there are many similar cases in our cities and towns that need the Government’s tough action on those fraudsters.
The Walala Finance Compound recreational area at Gerehu Stage 1 in the National Capital District is another example.
We have lodged our complaints to the responsible government agencies – NCDC, Lands and Finance departments to inquire into the processes involved in issuing title of the community recreational area but it’s taking too long for them to act on it.
The disgruntled residents are urging the responsible authorities to intervene and rescue their recreational area and give it back to the community.

  • Thank you for The National to published these important news and report for us. It may not benefit High ranking officials but for us simple (people, residents, officers, citizens) it can be a proof of self determination in pursuing a common understanding to those in high office that our voice and stories can be told and heard.
    In this kind of cases where we are manipulated and over sourced to the brink of no turning to our Superiors, the daily papers (The National) is always there and waiting to Assist.
