Let’s celebrate Christmas peacefully

Letters

NOW that Christmas is nearing, the phrase “take care yourself” is being used by almost everyone you come across.
People are urged to take care of themselves from violence and unlawful activities during Christmas.
This to me sounds similar to telling people to take care of themselves even if they are praying and worshipping, which is contradicting.
Christmas in Papua New Guinea over the years have been marred with deaths and problems.
People mourn instead of celebrating.
While most people try to celebrate in peace, a handful minority defy the norms by acting indecently.
PNG is a Christian country and should celebrate Christmas without the fear of being harmed. It’s about time we change for the better.
It is our right to enjoy freely.
Let us all thank God that we have been set free from foreign powers and claimed our independence on a golden platter.
We should thank God for the great and marvellous things he has done in our lives and our beautiful country.
