Illegal logging

Letters

ILLEGAL logging is ongoing in Papua New Guinea.
How can an elected leader and a State minister present a different status about his ministry’s operations?
Who is giving him such details about the forest industry status in PNG?
The prime minister has already announced that log exports will be banned by 2020, because he knows that there are illegal logging operations in the country.
We believe that the prime minister, through the assistance of the Apec economies will deliver and introduce new forest development and management strategies for the shared benefit of the forest owners, PNG and global communities.
The current forest management regime is not helping the local landowners, the Government or the global community.
