THE Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) has warned is member associations to improve in all aspects of the sport if they are to qualify for funding of K20,000.
PNGFA member association manager Stanley Khanna said that last week when he visited the Goroka Soccer Association following the June 20 elective congress.
Khanna said he wanted the association to organise itself in order to qualify for the funding.
“This was my first visit to a member association with many more to come in the year,” he said. He said the association had split into factions in 2018 which ruled them out of the congress in Port Moresby.
“I was obliged to fix the in-house issues of the association and bring them back on track so that they can participate in PNGFA business,” Khanna said.
He said 15 Goroka soccer club presidents, who attended a meeting on Sunday, wanted their competition to resume as soon as possible.
At the meeting, both factions agreed to come under one legitimate organisation and agreed to hold their annual general meeting on July 19 to elect new executives of the association.
Khanna said all presidents and club delegates expressed satisfaction and thanked PNGFA president John Kapi Natto for his vision to resolve the matter quickly.
He said once the association had its house in order, they would qualify for K20,000 for this season.
Khanna said the same applied to all other PNGFA member associations around the country.
