Interest high for expo

MORE than 2,000 women nationwide have registered to participate in the PNG Women in Business exposition in Lae, beginning on Friday.
The theme of the event is: “Sapotim meri kirapim bisnis” and is aimed at providing women the opportunity to women to showcase their skills and talents.
The expo’s organising committee said they had pushed back the closing of the registration until Thursday because more women were showing their interest and were still coming forward.
The women who have registered so far are from both the formal and informal sector who will be showcasing and promoting their type of products and services to the public.
So far, there were already 58 booths being set up at the St Ignatius Kilage Stadium.
The event’s organising committee is expecting to set up a total of 300 booths to cater for the increasing number of participants.
One of the organising committee member Anna Mwayubu said the indoor stadium will be reserved for the business houses and major sponsors who will also be showcasing their products, services and providing helpful business tips.
