A POLICE officer is assisting the internal affairs unit (IIU) in investigating the attack on the home of a fellow officer on Saturday in Port Moresby.
IIU director Supt Emil Alpha told The National that the constable, from the reserve force, was talking to investigators. The confrontation between the officers on Saturday was in relation to an investigation into a hit-and-run case involving a vehicle driven by an officer who is being treated for serious injuries.
Supt Alpha said only one officer had been charged so far over the confrontation at the Morata police barracks on Saturday.
“We are continuing our investigations,” he said.
Supt Alpha said after the standoff at Morata, the four officers drove to Gerehu where they were involved in an accident.
