Ipatas’ nonsense comments on road

I REFER to Sir Peter Ipatas’ comments on a road project in Wapenamanda, Enga Province.

I find the governor’s comments on the Tsak road  to be a lot of nonsense.

Tsak Valley has a population of more than 18,000 people but Ipatas made no attempt to maintain the Tsak road in his 20 years of political power.

The state of Tsak road had deteriorated for more than two decades. The road became inaccessible and Ipatas paid no attention to the cries of Tsak people.

Therefore, Ipatas’ comments are purely politics because the owner of the contracting company was one of his political rivals in the 2012 national election.

We understood that Ipatas’ contributed nothing to the construction of the road and should be ashamed of the current developments taking place in the district.

While we appreciate the governor for promoting human resources development through education, roads are also vital services to link educational institutions. Thus road and education services are both important.

Ipatas knows exactly why the construction phase was delayed, yet makes nonsense comments.
