IRC needs to explain

Letters

I WOULD like to highlight the lack of awareness and assistance by the Internal Revenue Commission (IRC) about some taxpayer rights.
Especially now we are affected by the hefty tax imposed by the State, through the IRC.
I note in particular those that earn between K70,000 and K250,000 a year who are taxed 42 per cent regardless of whether these workers have defendants or not.
Why should someone who earns K70,000 per annum be taxed the same amount (42 per cent) as someone who earns K250,000 per annum?
Can this be reviewed in order to assist our tax payers?
What about taxing 42 per cent to those earning over K200,000 while those earning K70,000-K180,000 p.a are taxed 30 per cent.
Secondly, there is another group of taxpayers who are being hit hard.
These are those that are repaying housing loans as first home owners.
These workers normally earn K70,000-K200,000 and are still taxed at a rate of 42 per cent.
Some of them are public servants who are renting private properties while repaying huge bank home loans.
Can the IRC clarify if there are forms to fill in and, if so, what is the process to follow so that these workers interest are served?
