Tax other banks too

Letters

Taxing is an ancient and Biblical, but legal way of getting and making money to support a government and development projects.
The system of taxing is good, however, the amount of money collected through the taxing system is a subject of concern, because it involves all products and policies.
In Papua New Guinea, we have our taxing laws and system in place.
The Government introduces a National Budget every year based on the amount of tax revenue to be collected plus other income from all sectors. Something that peaked my interest in the dailies was the BSP Financial Group Ltd CEO saying that the levy can apply to one bank, and that bank is BSP.
I am compelled to say this, it is unfair to do that to a nationally own bank (BSP), being the corner stone of the country’s economy in the banking industry to date.
Can the Government do the same to other banks?
Also the Government must review the tax holiday scheme given to other big companies not paying tax to the Government but still making millions.
This is unfair to BSP shareholders and customers.
