THE Solomon Islands Netball Federation announced its Pacific Games squad last week.

Federation president Noelyn Luahiti said the team was now under the watchful eyes of former Papua New Guinea coach Annie Iamo.

Iamo has a long record as coach of the Pepes, having guided the side to a Six Nations crown in 2011 as well as to the last Pacific Games in New Caledonia.

She coached the Pepes at the Pacific Series in 2013 at which PNG was placed second and in 2014 were placed 3rd. Iamo was replaced by Fijian Unaisi Rokoura last year.

She is an accredited Oceania umpire and coach.

Luahiti said Iamo was a well-known and high calibre netball personality, and the federation was privileged to have been able to secure her services to train and prepare the team Games. Iamo is being assisted by Helen Karani who was arranged by SINFED after the withdrawal of the other trainers.
