Isou considering options after ‘disappointing’ performance

FOLLOWING their 28-10 trial loss to the Central Dabaris, the Gulf Isou say they will be looking at several options to help them move on from Sunday’s “disappointing” performance in Port Moresby.
Isou team manager Raymond Aru said the under-performance came back to their approach, however, both players and coaching staff have agreed on a way forward for the 2021 season of the Digicel Cup.
“It was a very disappointing game,” he said.
“We weren’t up to the task.
“I don’t know if it’s the players or something in our preparation.
“We all need to sit down and rethink our approach for the next game.
“We can do better than this.
“We need to have an improved attitude that’s trained and 100 per cent ready to take the field.
“We started trying to catch up with them in the second half but we couldn’t because we had already given away too much ball, which allowed the Dabaris to capitalise and score against us.
“If we held on to the ball a bit longer, we could’ve done something better with our game to make it a contest.
“But in rugby league, the incomplete sets will turn around to hurt you.
“We have room for more experienced players in the squad because if this team is not performing the way that we want, then we’ll be considering recruitment to better our chances,” Aru said.
