Isou planning trail against select side

GULF Isou are planning to hold a trial match against a provincial select side next month before finalising their squad for the upcoming Digicel Cup season.
Coach Nigel Hukula told The National on Tuesday that he would consider players who were based in the province, depending on their performance in the trial.
“We are in discussion to stage a trial between Isou and a provincial select side,” he said.
“We also want to give an opportunity to the players from the province.
“So we might pick some players from there, depending on their performances.”
Hukula said Isou held their first trials on Friday which saw their 65-man train-on squad trimmed to 41 players.
The former SP Hunters assistant coach said the bulk of their 2020 roster had been released and some had joined other franchises.
Meanwhile, all players in the 41-man squad are asked to attend training at 2pm at Bava Park today.
