Kimbe Cutters focusing on discipline

KIMBE Cutters manager Freddie Kumai says the Digicel Cup team are focusing on improving their discipline which has been lacking over the past two seasons.
He told The National last week that the club had released a number of players due to their poor conduct.
Kumai said off-field behaviour could be a distraction to players and that it was evident in the performances of some of his men.
“We looked at the off-field behaviour of a number of our players over the last two seasons and dropped them ahead of the upcoming campaign,” he said.
“Things like how they conduct themselves on Facebook, some of their posts are stuff we don’t encourage as a club.
“They must know what the jersey represents and have respect for the team.
“They must have pride in wearing the jersey.
“Some of the players’ off-field behaviour has affected their performances.
“We want to change that this year.
“Our focus during the pre-season was on discipline and commitment.
“We can’t afford any distractions.”
Kumai said the Cutters had not reached the finals since they joined the competition in 2019.
