FANS in Port Moresby will have a chance to get a glimpse of new Digicel Cup team PRK Gulf Isou when they take on the Kroton Hela Wigmen in a trial match on Sunday at NFS in Port Moresby.
PNGRFL chief executive officer Reatau Rau said the trial would be the curtain raiser to the Intrust Super Cup round one match between the Hunters and the Ipswich Jets.
“The purpose of having this trial match as a curtain raiser is to raise funds for the earthquake hit areas in the Highlands,” Rau said.
“Buckets will be placed at the entry gates and we urge all spectators coming in to drop a kina or two in the buckets.”
Rau said this was the PNGRFL’s way to support the initiative by Mendi Muruks to assist our fellow citizens and families in the affected areas. The collected amount will be disclosed at half time of the main game between the SP Hunters and Ipswich Jets.
Gates open at 11.30am and the trial match is scheduled to kick off at 12.15pm.
