Japanese envoy gives Bougainville visit a pass mark

Japanese Ambassador Satoshi Nakajima described his delegation’s visit to Bougainville a success.
The objective of their mission was to get first-hand information on the current situation in Bougainville and how Japan could support and contribute towards infrastructure development and services in the island region.
A major project that prompted the Japanese delegation’s visit was to start initial dialogue with the Autonomous Bougainville Government on the phase two construction of bridges on the mainland coastal truck road that linked South Bougainville.
The delegation also received several requests for aid from schools such as Buin Vocational, Yamamoto Primary, in Aku, Buin district, the Arawa School of Nursing and Buin Health Centre.
