Jimi cracking down on needless claims

THE Jimi administration in Jiwaka will not entertain unnecessary claims but focus on delivering services such as health, education and infrastructure developments.
This was announced by district development authority chief executive Lawrence Itali on Wednesday after receiving a new K113,000 vehicle from MP Wake Goi.
He said the vehicle would be used for official purposes.
“I call on the people of Jimi not to submit claims and respect the system in place. We have a lot to do for the electorate like upgrading roads and boosting education and health,” Itali said.
He said many people were obsessed with free handouts and he would reject unnecessary claims.
Goi said submitting such claims and hijacking the normal process led to corruption.
