Jiwaka young and lost

Letters

JIWAKA as a breakaway province is still in its infancy stage and therefore needs a mature and determined governor to drive development.
Our incumbent governor is inactive and idle.
He is voiceless at Waigani and the national Parliament and does not give much thought to the state of the infant province and the welfare of the people. We hear that our governor, Dr William Tongamp, goes on overseas trips but what his province benefits from that we don’t know.
We gave him the mandate to be in the race in Waigani to win us prizes that we can enjoy.
But the hope and anticipation of seeing good things from our governor are not eventuating and forever becoming just dreams.
We read in the newspapers that every province has got its share of PSIP funding. But for Jiwaka, we have not seen much except the setting up of a single building to be used as the provincial headquarters.
Why is the National Planning office not monitoring provinces like Jiwaka?
National Planning and Monitoring Department please wake up.
