K10mil for upgrade

FORMER Defence Minister Saki Soloma says the ten posts along the country’s border and Indonesia needs an upgrade at a cost of around K10 million.
He said five posts each were in Western and West Sepik.
Defence Minister Solan Mirisim said he would continue to implement the projects and provide adequate support to the administration’s growth.
He said the Defence Ministry was important as it concerned the country’s security and played a role in times of disaster and civil unrest.
He thanked Soloma for his efforts in addressing border concerns, the redevelopment of the Lombrum Naval Base in Manus, operations in support of the Covid-19 response, security operations in the Highlands and other civil developments.
The defence ministry is also in-charge of the national fire services, national volunteer services and national disaster office.
