The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ first and longest fundraising lunch last Sunday raised K48,000 to meet the five top items on its wish list, says general manager Hellen White.
“The items are an orthopaedic pack, a suction unit, an animal scale, a diagnostic set for operations and a blood pressure monitor. And we raised just over K48,000,” she said.
‘The support of the people of Port Moresby for our event was just amazing. We can’t thank everyone enough.
“The wish list items will raise our ability to give great animalcare to a new level with the construction of our new clinic well under way,” she said.
She thanked Elisa Cragnolini, Kirsty Laird and Red Sea Housing Ltd who sponsored items from the wish list. She also extended her gratitude to all RSPCA supporters, sponsors, committee members and those who attended.
The luncheon sponsor was Airways Hotel which set up a long table along the walkway of their downstairs shopping mall.
Other sponsors for the event included PNG Air, Lissenung Island Resort, Fab! Limited Catering, Anne Ames, Elisa Bramley, Lamana Hotel, Cool Biz and Security Plus.
