Coach Steven Mune says Kagua Erave are eager to take the game to Enga Laima when they face off in the Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League Highlands Conference tomorrow.
Kagua Erave are coming off 3-0 victory against Mt Hagen in the opening round at the National Sports Institute in Goroka last Sunday and they will be looking for a repeat in their performance to continue their perfect record.
Laima will want to bounce back after their 5-0 loss to Aporro Mai.
“Every game is important for us,” Mune said.
“So we are taking each match as they come.”
He said they were mindful of the threat each of their conference opponents posed.
“Every team is competitive,” Mune said.
“We are always mindful of the games we play and the teams we face.
“We have made some adjustments from the last week’s game, so we are looking forward to the game.
“Our goalkeeper was sent off in the first half of last week’s game.
“But we have Jeffery Seriba to stand in for him.
“Our defenders Quinten Simea and Langarap Samel should combine well with our midfielders Jonel Kambul and Henson Topio
“They will all be led by captain Niel Hans.
“I will maintain the firepower up front, with strikers Jordan Kaven and Papalau Awele expected to score goals.
“I’m comfortable with my players. Saturday’s game will be tough, as Enga Laima will also look to win.”
Highlands Conference fixtures: Sat, Feb 16 – Simbu v Mt Hagen, Enga Laima v Kagua Erave, Blue Kumuls v Aporro Mai.
