Kagua-Erave must be prepared

Letters

THE people of Kagua-Erave must be prepared to receive Government services which are about to trickle down to them.
I am sure the local member Wesley Raminai and his district development authority are planning on strategic projects and programmes to be delivered.
While they do their part in planning and delivering, people must be prepared for the changes.
There are many things we can do.
Firstly, let’s come out of idleness.
We must not sit around doing nothing.
We must work hard.
We must cultivate our land, and or seriously be involved in entrepreneurial activities that can impact our lifestyles.
Secondly, stop illicit activities.
Drug and alcohol abuse, sorcery-related issues, gambling, etc are rampant in our communities.
These social ills must see an end if we are to see development reaching us.
Thirdly, give up land.
Development takes place on land.
If a project is destined to our communities, we must be ready to give up our land.
Compensation demands should not take precedence over development.
Instead, we must partner with the Government in service delivery.
Remember, Government services may come our way only once.
If we do not provide the conducive environment, the intended project backs off, and will it never return for a long time.
Otherwise, by working in partnership with our local MP, we can together experience some changes in our district.
