People with disability

Letters

EVERYDAY people with disabilities sit at the overheard bridge in Lae collecting money from the general public as beggars.
Some of them are now regulars and the money they collect is used for their daily needs.
Others spend what they collect on alcohol and gambling during the weekends.
These unfortunate people are neglected by their own families and friends who do not provide them food, clothing and shelter.
Sometimes they sleep on the concrete cement floors in front of shops on the streets.
These people must be given special treatment from their families by providing accommodation, food and shelter.
Otherwise they should be repatriated to their respective places of origin.
