Kairuku-Hiri churches get roofing iron from MP

KAIRUKU-Hiri MP Peter Isoaimo donated roofing sheets to Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) churches in the Hiri district, Central.
While presenting the materials to churches in Kagi and Naduri, in Koiari local level government (LLG), Isoaimo said that churches had a vital role to play within the villages and the communities.
“We, as elected leaders, must support churches under the government-church partnership. The country is facing an economic crises and there are not enough funds for major developments in the district, but whatever funding we receive from the government for the DSIP funds, we will spread thinly throughout the whole district to rollout small sustainable projects only.”
Koiari LLG vice president Josh Niveni John thanked Isoaimo and said that the two villages, Naduri and Kagi, had potential for tourism and needed to build good guest houses.
These villagers are situated along the famous 96km Kokoda Track that runs between Central and Northern.
