HEKARI United manager Vonnie Kapi Natto is hoping to resume their School of Excellence programme upon approval from the Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA).
“We are hoping to resume the programme soon as more parents are showing interest to get their children involved,” the programme founder told The National yesterday.
“I appreciate the parents and their kids for being patient.
“I also thank them for being committed to the programme.
“It is unfortunate, given the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We can’t help it, we just have to respect the national pandemic response controller’s directives on sports.
“Things are looking much better so I’m meeting with PNGFA to seek approval if we can resume this weekend.”
Kapi Natto said from the programme, they would select children for the Hekari Academy where they would undergo further training to develop themselves.
With the programme free of charge, Kapi Natto said they were encouraging parents to bring their children along with their birth certificates.
