YOUNG energetic basketball talent will be on show tomorrow at the Kaugere basketball courts when the BFPNG affiliated association hosts its grand finals.
Kaugere is known for producing some of the country’s best basketball players in the likes of Dia, Apia and Purari Muri to name a few.
Obviously the young talent that will be on display know that their particular Moresby-South suburb is known for producing top players over the years and will surely be out there to impress.
A sponsor of one of the playoff teams in the association, Yellow Comets, called on BFPNG to come along and witness the event as they might find some potential talents for their development programme.
Sponsor Owen Haro referred to Kaugere as a breeding ground for upcoming basketball talents and the presence of BFPNG development officers or other PMBL scouts was a great acknowledgement of their community.
“Basketball in Kaugere has a culture and has grown over time and the finals this weekend will see a lot of talented youngsters,” Haro said.
“As a sponsor of Yellow Comets, I am pleased that three of our junior teams have made the finals (U15 boys and U18 boys/girls).
“I am impressed with how our junior players have been playing so far and I have strong belief that they have big basketball dreams to one day become national reps like those that have come and gone.”
