KEREMA Basketball Association (KBA) elected Debbie Hae as their new president during last week’s annual general meeting (AGM) in Gulf, according to an official.
Former president Aisa Aua told The National that the AGM received the backing of KBA clubs and was attended by all executives.
“The KBA executives and club representatives were cooperative in getting the AGM together to elect their new executives,” he said.
“KBA now has a new-look executive board. It comprises president Debbie Hae, vice-president Kingsley Sorari, secretary Janet Kaiva and treasurer Heita Kimave.
“Part of the executive board also includes match committee and technical officials Aisey Koroia, Rose Koroia, Morgan Kapera and George Tinga. The new executives are now preparing to field representative teams for the Under-17s and seniors in the national championships in September.”
Meanwhile, Aua acknowledged KBA’s support during his time as president with the association gearing up for next month’s tip-off of the 2021 season.
“As the outgoing president, I’d like to thank everyone for their support during my term as president for the past six years,” he said.
“I’d like to encourage all the new executives to work together for the sport to continue to grow in the province.”
Aua said the this season had six clubs but they are yet to pay their affiliation and player registration fees.
