Kewabi tips off tourney

THE Kewabi Unity basketball tournament weeklong tournament is now into day two of competitions in Riwi village in Ialibu, Southern Highlands with 42 teams registered for the event.
A combined tournament for rural local level governments (LLGs) of Kewabi, Epari, Kuare and Pangia also received the presence of teams from outside centres including National Capital District, Western Highlands, Chimbu, Eastern Highlands, Gulf and other parts of Southern Highlands.
The inaugural tournament is an initiative facilitated by Department of Works and Highways secretary David Wereh to promote the code of basketball in the province and will go down in history as one of the biggest basketball tournaments in the province and the region played at the newly built Twins Riwi courts. The construction of two basketball courts and additional facilities were undertaken by Rupiah Limited who are also sponsors as well as Kana Construction Ltd.
