Kikori station

Letters

OIL Search Ltd, through its tax credit scheme, should consider upgrading rundown key social service infrastructure in Kikori station.
Kikori Secondary School caters for students from as far as Kerema, Ihu and Baimuru.
It is in dire need of long-overdue maintenance and upgrade.
This high school was initially funded and constructed by Chevron Niugini under the first tax credit scheme.
At this juncture, we also blame successive Gulf provincial governments and former Kikori MP Mark Maipakai.
We further welcome National Planning Minister Richard Maru’s push for a review of all tax credit schemes in the resource development sites in PNG.
Kikori district carries oil and gas pipelines.
Oil Search Ltd needs to seriously look at the secondary school and hospital in Kikori.
Do something under the tax credit scheme. We also call on the Gulf government and Kikori MP to be proactive.
Realise that Kikori is seriously lagging behind in development.
Do something about this.
