Land titles

Letters

News of giving land titles to settlers in Port Moresby is bringing great joy and excitement to all of us in the settlements.
However, take note that this city has experienced a lot of law and order issues.
These are from all these settlements surrounding the city.
Now is the time to ask us, settlers, some serious questions relating to law and order before giving the titles.
Before a title is given, some conditions listed below must be fully understood and signed by those to be given a tittle:

  • While living under this title, I will not instigate any trouble or problems among the peace-loving people;
  • If I do, no warning will be given to me and the title will be forfeited back to the State and I will sell or remove my property within one month and vacate the place; and
  • If one of my household or family members misbehave or instigate trouble among the peace-loving people, they will be removed permanently by police or handed in by the settlement committee, after two warnings are given.

This way we can have some control over the people and minimise law and order issues in the city.
I now call upon my four NCD MPs to take note of this and come up with some more conditions, so that this city can be a peaceful place to live in.
I also call upon interested professionals to contribute in this regard so that we all can enjoy peace in the city and settlements.
Troublemakers don’t deserve to live in the city.
They don’t live on the trees.
They live in a house.
These houses must come under a tittle with these strict conditions.
