ACQUITTALS for 2018 funds for Kikori district in Gulf will be ready by next week, says an official.
Kikori district finance manager Rex Koivi revealed on Friday, Port Moresby, when the District Development Authority (DDA) received 39 banana boats and outboard engines from Ela Motors, which were purchased for K600,000.
He said that K10m DSIP fund has been well used by the DDA with K900,000 remaining in the account, which would be spent on covering the shipment cost of the purchased items including three large generators, 50 1000L water tanks, and 39 portable generators given by Ela Motors for free.
Koivi noted that the DSIP money was well spent and any concerned person from the district should not query any spending.
Adding that a fair portion of the amount was spent on the purchase of three large generators that will light up Kikori district for the first time since colonial era and on drought relief assistance for the affected people.
“All our funding should be acquitted next week and the report submitted to Department of Implementation and Rural Development, Department of National Planning and Monitoring and Auditor-General’s Office for verification, which is the normal check and balance process,” Koivi said.
