Kokonas Indastri provides training

Business

KOKONAS Indastri Koporesen (KIK) has been working in Gulf to help set up a viable coconut industry.
It has set up nursery at Terapo, collected seeds for the gene bank in Ihu and encouraged small-scale processing at Iokea.
KIK has offered to run coconut downstream processing (CDSP) training for coconut farmers in Gulf this year.
The first training was conducted at Terapo Catholic Parish last week.
The hands-on training is essential for coconut farmers in the region to understand the value of their palms.
Many coconut farmers correlate coconut (mature dry coconut) to copra, which defeats the hidden income potential of the crop.
