THE Komagin Kongos shut out the China Town Bulls 10-0 in round three of the Moresby North-East John Kaupa Cup at the Unagi Oval on Saturday.
Both teams showed great interest to compete despite the rocky playing surface.
The Kongos opening try was through centre Seth Steven in the first 10 minutes and their second was through halfback Simon Bani underneath the goal posts.
Bani converted the try to give his side a 10-0 victory.
The Bulls tried to claw their way back into the contest but the Kongos’ defence prevented them from crossing over the line.
The Kongos had been in good in the previous rounds and Saturday’s victory showed that they were not in the competition to make up the numbers.
The finals are expected to be held after round 10, according to competition coordinator Jeffery Bomai.
Bomai said most of the teams taking part in the offseason competition at Unagi Oval had not been registered.
Bomai has given those teams until round five to complete their registration or face omission from the competition.
