EDUCATION Secretary Dr Uke Kombra has urged education ministry employees to be loyal public servants.
Kombra made the plea during a dedication service in Port Moresby recently.
He told them to be loyal and to do their jobs honestly and faithfully.
He advised staff to seek God’s help in everything they do.
“We have to commit ourselves to God.
“We are responsible for the education and future of PNG,” he said.
“Every brain, every young spirit, ever young soul, every young body in or country is in our hands.
“We can’t change the human capital of PNG unless we commit ourselves.”
He reminded them to hold every Monday devotions.
“We must have a spiritual counsellor in the department (and) a health officer,” he said.
“We have to be spiritually guided, medically supported.”
Teachers Service Commission chairman Samson Wangihomie urged the workers to do away with the culture of chewing buai, smoking, getting dinau money, and sitting around doing nothing during working hours.
He urged everyone to work faithfully and get paid for what they do.
