KPHL welcomes new board chairman

Business

Dr Benedict Thomas Yaru has been appointed chairman of the board of Kumul Petroleum Holdings Ltd (KPHL).
Dr Yaru’s appointment was made effective from May 11, 2020, replacing former chairman Andrew Baing, whose appointment was revoked on April 28.
Baing served as chairman since last April.
KPHL managing director Wapu Sonk thanked Baing for his leadership on the board and congratulated Dr Yaru on his appointment.
“Kumul Petroleum is fortunate to have the expertise of an established leader such as Dr Benedict Yaru, who as a founding board member, brings a wealth of historical knowledge and skill set that is invaluable to the company,” he said.
“And as we manoeuver through unprecedented times, given recent global challenges that have led to the sharp decline in oil and LNG prices, we look forward to his continued leadership and involvement within the board as its chair.”
The power to appoint, and revoke appointments of the board of directors is vested in the Kumul Trustee pursuant to the Kumul Petroleum Holdings Authorisation Act 2015.
