Kumuls beat Nasfund One to claim softball shield

SANTOS Blue Kumuls beat Nasfund One 8-2 to claim the Port Moresby Women’s Softball Association corporate slow-pitch competition Shield at the Bisini Diamonds last weekend.
The first inning saw Blue Kumuls register 2-0.
Nasfund hit back with a home run to bring the scores to 2-1 in the second inning. It was then smooth sailing for Blue Kumuls as they kept adding to the tally with batter Ainui Matlaun scoring home runs.
Outstanding fielding from Noami Totil and Alois Malori kept Nasfund at bay along with pitching by Andrew Kobal. Kobal was named as the man of the match.
The participants are staff members of corporate organisations and their dependents.
