Kumuls deserve better ranking

Letters

I WISH to express my disappointment with the current ranking of the PNG Kumuls (The National, Dec 15).
The 10th-place ranking of the PNG Kumuls by Rugby League International Federation is totally biased and a slap in the face of stakeholders and supporters of this rugby league-mad nation.
We proved to the world in the recent Rugby League World Cup that we are a team to beat, and we did it.
The Kumuls have beaten countries like Wales, USA and Ireland, but they are rated higher than us.
PNG Rugby Football League should ask the international federation to re-think the rating.
As far as I’m concerned, PNG Kumuls should be ranked sixth after either Fiji or Tonga.

Disappointed
