A LACK of support to empower members of a church in Huon-Gulf, Morobe, is affecting its ability to carry out its mission, a pastor says.
The Evangelical Lutheran church conference in Wampar was held at Wampan in Lower Watut and Buakap in Salamaua from June 14 to 20.
Ps Gawas Moaitz said women, youth and Sunday school activities in the Wampar, Malaclo and Zaka circuits were the most impacted.
He said pastors and evangelists serving in remote parishes were unable to support their families in paying for their children’s school fees and health expenses.
“The circuits need a financial avenue that can propel church ministries effectively,” Ps Moaitz said.
More than 400 delegates from Iwal, Bong, Gawa and Male attended the conference at Malaclo.
The seven parishes that attended the Wampar conference were Saga, St Ben, Erap, St Titus, St Timothy, Wawas and Sampi.
