LAE City have welcomed back Obert Bika and Ronald Warisan while Tusbab Stallions forward Stahl Gubag has been signed to boost their title defence in the Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League.
Club owner Ian Chow told The National that he had no problem with the pair who had walked out on the team early in the year following former coach Peter Gunemba’s sacking after City’s premature Oceania Football Confederation Champions League exit.
“Gubag is a good buy for us,” Chow said ahead of Saturday’s competition restart.
“He is a talented player but he has been playing with a team that have been struggling.
“His talent really suits the standard of City so we had to sign him.
“Such talents like Gubag will rise to another level if they play in a team like City.
“It’s a win-win situation for Gubag and the team.
“His signing will help lift the standard of our game.
“For Warisan and Bika, I have no issues with them.
“I only sacked the coach (Gunemba) and not the players.
“It’s great to have them back because they bring a wealth of experience to the team, but I have set conditions.
“I have instructed coach Bob Morris to keep an eye on these players and make sure they abide by club regulations.
“We want City to be built around discipline.”
