Lae raffle ticket winners drawn

THE PNG Cancer Relief Society picked the winners of its “Monster Raffle” at the Lae International Hotel on Monday.
The first prize winner was Haile Duffield who won a 15kva generator, sponsored by Spectra Industrial Ltd while the second prize of airfares and accommodation at the Shangri-La hotel in Cairns, sponsored by Airlines PNG and Shangri-La hotel, was won by Nishih Muchale.
The third prize of laptop sponsored by Designer Printing Ltd was won by Dr Laki while the fourth prize of fully signed Cowboys players jerseys, sponsored by Brian Bell and Company, went to Paul Duffield, Gilbert Rothmaier, Mami Yobina and John
Coutts.
While substantial funds have been raised from the corporate sector and individuals through such events as the Daffodil Golf Day, head shaving and a dinner dance, the mega raffle has given an opportunity to Papua New Guineans in Lae to contribute to assist in the treatment of cancer in PNG.
The society has two major projects that are the purchase of skin cancer treatment machine at a cost of K620,000 and the construction of an additional transit ward for cancer patients from other provinces at a cost of K286,000.
Acting divisional police commander for Mamose Nema Mondiai witnessed the draw which raised K24,750 for the society.
The raffle was launched last October.
