Lahanis are role models, Soso says

 EASTERN Highlands Governor Julie Soso is full of praise for the form of the Bintangor Goroka Lahanis Digicel Cup rugby league team so this year.

“Yu pride na bun blong mipela,” she said.

“From our eight districts, you (Lahanis) have strong followers, so don’t let us down and going by your positive first-round performance I’m sure you will be there on grand-final day,” Soso said.

She made the comments during a fundraising drive for the Lahanis franchise in Port Moresby, on Friday.

Soso said the Lahanis were a role model to the passionate rugby league people of Eastern Highlands.

“It contributes in its own way to restoration and transformation through unity. Though sports and rugby league we can take our province to another level.” 

She said if they wanted to develop economically and socially, they could not afford to be divided.
