GOROKA Lahanis are looking to secure the services of SP Hunters pair Nicky Hasu and Brandon Nima for the upcoming Digicel Cup season.
Team manager Tom Pori told The National last week that the Bintangor sponsored-club would have a meeting in the coming weeks to arrange for pair to join the team.
He said the Lahanis had already announced a 30 man squad earlier in the year, however, they would have to create space for Hasu and Nima
“Nicky (Hasu) and Brandon (Nima) are likely to join us,” Pori said.
“We understand that the Queensland Intrust Super Cup season was cancelled and these players are required to go back to their respective clubs and it’s good.
“When the board meets, I think we will have to re-do the 30-man squad to create space for the two players.”
Captain Gonzella Urakusie said Nima and Hasu would boost the 2018 premiers and that they would fit in well with their young talents.
“Brandon and Nicky’s spots are there,” said the veteran forward, who is retiring at the end of the season.
“They won’t have a problem.
“I believe their combination with our backline will work quite perfectly. Meanwhile Pori, said they had yet to decide on when the Lahanis would resume training.
He said there was still uncertainty as to when exactly the Digicel Cup would start.
Pori said the Lahanis would start training upon directives from Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League and other relevant authorities.
