Lahanis success proving worthwhile

Letters

THIS is regard to the weekend’s match between the Bintangor Goroka Lahanis and the Gulf Isou played in Port Moresby.
It did not take long for me to recognise the Lahanis jumpers when I switched my television on.
A second try was scored by the Gulf Isou and the goal kicker appeared to take his mark.
Nickey Hasu, who was supposed to be in the Lahanis jersey was taking a kick for the Gulf Isou in Isou Jersey, can you believe it?
It took me a while to realise that he had jumped ships midway through the shortest Digicel cup season from Lahanis to Isou.
Good on him and the coach Nigel Hukula because throughout the game, one could see Hukula’s Lahanis influence in play for the Gulf Isou.
I was thinking, every team throughout PNG had produced wonderful players in rugby league but for some of us, the influences of the recent generation of players in the likes of Glen Nami and Alphonse Kapil with his influence on the Jiwaka Tumbe are experiences gained while playing for the Goroka Lahanis.
Several other players including Thomson Teteh, who is with the Port Moresby Vipers, John Gand and others who are with the Snax Tigers.
Supa Kokote and others are with the Enga Mioks, while Noel Zeming and others have been with the Bintangor Goroka Lahanis for more than 15 years.
Congratulations to Simon Sia, the Bintangor group of companies, and of Lahanis player.
