Lahanis to host Mioks in Goroka

REIGNING Digicel Cup champions Bintangor Lahanis hosts the Enga government Mioks at the National Sports Institute in Goroka on Sunday.
Following a 16-34 loss to the Jiwaka Provincial Government Waghi Tumbe in Minj last Sunday, the Lahanis have been training hard all week to return to winning ways.
Lahanis coach Umba Peter will be relying on Nathan Brown, Sefa Dait, Joseph Mocke, Jacob Kepea, Joseph Karara and Warren Apaio to lead their attack.
Forwards Isaac Patrick, skipper Gonzella Urakusie, Zebedee Uruba, Charlie Buka, Ake Paluse and Jacob Gibbs will be expected to dominate the middle.
Last year’s grand finalists Mioks, who have been stripped of their home games this season, are expected to field a strong team with an eye on revenge.
The Lahanis defeated the Mioks 10-6 to take out the 2018 Digicel Cup in Port Moresby. They also defeated the Mioks in round one in Goroka.
The Enga side will be determined to put on a strong performance as they look to secure a spot in the top-six playoffs.
Hunters hooker Woods Kawage, former Lahanis forward Eddie Dafa and Stelwin Pebo will he heavily relied on to create opportunities for the visitors.
Kudoo Security will award the man-of-the-match prize, according to company owner Andrew Kimson.
