SNAX Lahi with a week of rest have a huge task before them as they face competition leaders Morobe United in the main game of the Kumul Petroleum NSL tomorrow at Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium.
The first game of the double-header will see Markham taking on Besta PNG United at 12:30pm.
“Morobe are the conference leaders and they’ve been in form over the last several rounds so we need to focus on playing well in all areas,”Lahi technical advisor Geoffrey Gideon said.
“If we can stick to playing simple football and following the game plan the there is no reason why we can’t win. We’ve prepared well in terms of our fitness and our technical work so we’re confident we’ll be competitive against Morobe.”
In Madang home teams Laiwaden FC and Tusbab Stallions will host Morobe Wawens and Toti City respectively in the conference’s other double-header. Laiwaden with two wins from four games are aiming for their third win as they host the Wawens in their second home game of the season.
Coach Bob Morris, who helped the Wawens in preparation for the Oceania Football Confederation Leagues Champions, said he had worked out a plan for his side take on the opposition based on what he knew about them.
“We are working more on attack and will give the Wawens a good game,” Morris said.
We respect them as they played in the OFC but we know what we’re up against.”
City coach Peter Gunemba were settling back into the grind of the NSL and was pleased that his players were picking up their form.
“We have no specific plan for the Stallions or the other teams. We just play what’s in front of us on the day,” Gunemba said.
