Landowner company suffering

Letters

I CAN empathise with the author of this letter in The National of July 26.
Landowners company Umboi Timbers Investment Ltd has suffered terribly from one such action – or in action: an adjournment of more than seven months.
Journalists need to report such inefficiency of the judiciary.
Reporting court cases is the most obvious thing, but getting the ramifications or inferences and pursuing a story while a case is before the courts is the most profoundly fulfilling (and thoroughly thrilling) assignment.
My (Umboi Timbers) court case is OS 447 of 2018.
The decision was reserved since December last year by the Waigani National Court.
I am still waiting. In the meantime, the company (and landowner’s affairs) I am supposed to manage has gone to the dogs.
