THE PNG LNG project upstream landowner company Hides Gas Development Co Ltd is granting K200,000 to the Business and Professional Women’s Club to start an engineering scholarship for women.

Hides Gas chairman Tuguyawini Parindali said the company willingly moved to support the club initiative to set up the scholarship to be called Decie Autin Scholarship for Women.

“We support this initiative because we were established as the result of the PNG LNG Project,” Parindali said.

“We are identified with the project which was a huge engineering challenge and an engineering feat undertaken in the country under the capable leadership of Peter Graham and Decie Autin.

“To show our appreciation for the support, the leadership and the corporate culture and the business ethics Hides received from the project, we would like to say “thank you” to Graham, Autin and the project team by committing K200,000 of our hard-earned shareholders’ money to this worthy initiative named after Decie Autin to help support and inspire a generation of Papua New Guinea women design and engineer the future of this country.”
