THE case of a man charged with raping a minor has been adjourned because his lawyer from the Public Solicitor’s Office was absent from court.
Another lawyer from the Public Solicitor’s Office, David Kaiyok, told the court that he would remind his colleague Agnes Peters of the case.
Magistrate Tracy Ganaii adjourned the case of Bamu Sisa, 43, from Orokolo village in Gulf, to March 10 for ruling.
Sisa was remanded. The alleged offence took place at the Sabama New Block in Moresby South on Aug 11.
Police alleged that Sisa, armed with a knife, went to the 12-year-old girl’s house and climbed into her bed.
He allegedly threatened to kill her if she screamed.
He ran away when he heard the girl’s sister calling for her. The sister saw Sisa running away.
The matter was reported to police.
