A DECISION on the leadership tribunal case of Abau MP Sir Puka Temu will be handed down next Friday after the tribunal has deliberated on the submissions received yesterday.
Tribunal chairman Justice Panuel Mogish in adjourning the case said that its members would need time to go through submissions that lawyers had presented.
Other members of the tribunal were magistrates Josephine Nidue and Wialo Sakato.
The prosecution submitted two allegations against Sir Puka which related to him not following legal advice provided by the State Solicitor. He pleaded not guilty to both allegations. Sir Puka’s lawyer Greg Sheppard, of Young and Williams Lawyers, submitted that the case should be dismissed.
Public Prosecutor Francis Popeu, on the other hand, had raised other concerns in submission which related to names of the companies that Sir Puka was alleged to have awarded a contract for refurbishment.
