MORESBY South Rugby League president Brown Murema has thanked local MP Justin Tkatchenko and National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop for their help in delivering the league a new stadium.
Murema said rugby league had played a big part in addressing social issues in the electorate and the new K5 million Moresby South Stadium would give the league a big boost delivering a quality competition and involving more youths.
Murema also thanked the hard work of the league’s affiliates, its executives and the local community for their contribution towards the success of the project.
“Our goal to have a stadium started back in 2014,” Murema said.
“The local community, affiliates, the executives, the officials and technical staff did the hard work and set the platform for the project to take place and for that they deserve the credit.
“A very big thank you to Honorable Tkatchenko and Governor Powes Parkop.
“Both of you (Parkop and Tkatchenko) have done more for Moresby South with many impact projects and this new stadium is one of them,” he said.
